Adaptation Program: Nurses trained outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) will be required to undertake the Adaptation Program before working as nurse in the Ireland.  

Criteria:

  •  B.Sc/Diploma in nursing.
  •  Minimum 1 year registered nurse experience.
  •  IELTS Academic score of overall 7.0, with Listening- 6.5, Reading- 6.5, Writing- 7.0,Speaking- 7.0.

    Aptitude Test:

    The Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery RCSI aptitude test is an alternative to the current adaptation/assessment model for assessing the competence of overseas educated and trained nurses and midwives. It is based on a two assessment methods. 

    The Aptitude Test comprises two parts: 

    • Part 1: Theory or Knowledge Test 
    • Part 2: Practical or OSCE Test 

    Two attempts (that is, one repeat) will be allowed at each of the two parts of the Aptitude Test. The Theory Test must be repeated in full. The particular competency/competencies failed in the Practical Test must be repeated (details will be given with the results of the Practical Test).
